The team from Wildland Research stayed in Iceland for two weeks in August and mapped an area by Vatnajökull. The project is run by Wildland Research Institute, the Icelandic Nature Conservation Association, the Association for Nature Conservation in the North, Skrauti and Young Environmentalists.
Dr. Stephen Carver, director of the research expedition and director of the Wildland Research Institute, says that even though most of the mapping is done under the auspices of the office, it is very important to visit the sites that are being mapped to get a holistic view of the area.
